Description:

A series of 12 unique postcards designed by artist Elizabeth Cheatham Wild. Each postcard includes photographic images of carefully selected architectural treasures found on historic buildings in the various districts of Downtown Los Angeles. Additional graphic details on the cover and back of the postcards reflect the unique character of place each district possesses. Downtown Delight postcard sets were distributed to existing downtown stakeholder organizations and cultural institutions (free of charge) to be sold to the public in their stores.

Artist Profile

Elizabeth Cheatham Wild is a site-specific installation artist whose works incorporate color-saturated displays, kitsch culture debris, and B-movie iconography.  Her works tackle current socio-political issues as with her 1999 exhibition, 13: Flotsam and Jetsam at Locust Projects, which addressed the pollution problem within our oceans by utilizing consumer goods, such as used milk cartons and garbage bags gathered from the Los Angeles City Department of Sanitation.  The artists hopes that her works will serve to create and environment that encourages dialogue.  Cheatham received her BA from the University of Virginia and her MFA from Ohio State University.
