Description:

The CRA/LA provided LACE with a 15 year rehabilitation loan for the adaptive reuse of an industrial building into four 1,000 sq. ft. artist live/work studios plus office and exhibition space. All units were for low and moderate income rental occupancy.

Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE) is a venue that supports, exhibits and advocates innovations in art-making.  Founded in 1978, LACE encourages experimentation among artists and is credited for nurturing several generations of young and under-recognized artists as well as emerging art forms such as performance art, installation-based work, video art, and artwork created with digital technologies.  Located in the heart of Hollywood, LACE acts as the hub for contemporary art dialogue in Los Angeles and is an active venue for artistic exploration, a promoter of innovative art, a supporter of living artists, and an educator of audiences about contemporary art and the art-making process.
