Artist Profile
Los Angeles native Matt Mullican attended art school at California Institute of the Arts where he received his BFA in 1974. Best known outside of the United States, Mullican has exhibited extensively in Europe and Asia with recent solo shows at the Stedelijk Museum, the Netherlands; Marian Goodman Gallery, Paris; and Mai 36 Galerie, Zurich. Mullican has received numerous public and corporate commissions most notably in Amsterdam, where he recently completed a project for the Schiphol International Airport. The artist’s works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Ludwig Museum, Hungary; and the Pompidou Center, France. The artist lives and works in New York.
