Artist Profile
Renée Petropoulos, a Los Angeles native, received her BA, MA, and MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles. The artist’s interest in pattern, repetition, and color is reflected through her public works such as the one found in the Los Angeles Metro Orange Line. Petropoulos has received grant funding from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, Otis College of Art and Design Faculty Development Grant, a Durfee Foundation Grant, and a California Community Foundation Grant. The artist has been featured in several group exhibitions including the Pasadena Museum of California Art; Palm Springs Desert Museum; ICA, London; and the Forde Espace d’Art Contemporain Usine, Geneva, Switzerland. The artist lives in Venice, California and teaches at the Otis College of Art and Design in the Graduate Studies Department.
