Artist Profile
Susan Stinsmuehlen-Amend was born in Baltimore, Maryland. From 1966-1972, she studied at Hood College, Indiana University, and the University of Texas. In 1982, the artist received a National Endowment for the Arts Artist Fellowship. Stinsmuehlen-Amend’s works are in the public collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Museum of Glass: International Center for Contemporary Art, Tacoma; Detroit Institute of the Arts; the Jewish Museum; Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; Wagga Wagga City Art Gallery, New South Wales, Australia; Nishida Museum, Toyoma, Japan; and the Voss & Partner, TV-Ateliers, Dusseldorf, Germany. The artist lives and works in Ojai, California.
