Description:
Cast in concrete relief, this six-story mural by Tony Sheets is located on the exterior of a parking garage. It consists of 12 panels that illustrate the history of Los Angeles, including the Angel's Flight, the red car system, the Los Angeles theater building, agriculture, industry, and founding families. The top right scene depicts workers harvesting a fruit orchard and vineyard. The top left depicts a building and a piece of fruit. Below on the left are two full-length figures of men standing in front of a new building. They hold a blueprint between them. The panel to the right depicts a large building façade with a motor truck and horse and wagon in front. The next panel down shows several oil wells with a group of workers in the foreground. The panel to the left depicts a building with a motor car standing in front. To the right, a panel depicts a train track and arch. To the left is a scene from Hollywood with directors shooting a movie. The bottom panels depicts individuals of various ethnic backgrounds on the left, and on the right a couple and a building façade.
