Vicki Scuri
Mesa Street Car Park
1996

Project Area: Beacon Street
Project: Mesa Street and 6th
Project Location: 6th and Mesa Street
Project Type: CRA Initiated

Description:

Artist Vicki Scuri reminds us that this is not a typical park. Through the use of form-liners, Scuri embeds automobile tire tracks on the project's concrete surfaces creating a complex and festive pattern that reinforces the site's identity. The Mesa Street Car Park was developed by the CRA/LA working cooperatively with the Department of Transportation to meet the demand for parking in San Pedro's historic downtown.
