Description:
This program is available to property owners and long-term tenants for improvements to the exterior of commercial properties. Improvements include restoration, rehabilitation or replacement of storefronts, signs and general repair. The Commercial Facade Improvement program provides funds which can vary from $25K per address/storefront in some areas to $250,000 K per address/store in other areas, but it requires that the recipient of the grant enter into an agreement with the Agency to show a commitment to maintain the improvements in sound, clean and graffiti-free condition for a period of ten years, and requires a dollar for every two dollars the Agency puts in.

Project wide with preference given to projects in specific geographic areas.

Redevelopment Purpose:
Retention and stabilization of existing commercial businesses within the project area by providing financial assistance to the property owners and businesses.
