Artist Profile
El Portal Theatre is a historic cultural landmark located in the heart of the North Hollywood Arts District. Opening in 1926, the theatre has served as a vaudeville house, a venue first for silent movies, then Academy Award-winning films, and eventually became the premier movie house in the San Fernando Valley. In the late 1990s, due to excessive wear and tear over time and damage from the 1994 earthquake, the theatre was rebuilt. Since re-opening in January 2000, the theatre continues to feature award-winning theatre productions, world premiere musicals, and provides a venue for films, television shows, and live concerts.
